Iran's First Exhibition on Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Industries was inaugurated on Monday in Fars International Fairground in Golestan town, Shiraz.
More than 70 domestic companies active in the industries are displaying their achievements in 120 pavilions in an area of 3,500 square meters covered space.
Managing director of Fars Province Gas Company referred to the number of manpower working in the industry sector in the province, adding that some 13.9 percent of work forces in Fars province are employed in the industry sector which includes 17.9 percent of the country's total industrialists.
Pointing to the role of key industries in resolving unemployment, Saeed Mo'meni added that lack of key industries, unemployment and ignorance about industrial and service capabilities as well as drought are among the problems of Fars province in previous decades.
Touching on holding the first specialized exhibition on oil, gas and petrochemical industries as a positive step in enabling internal industries of the province, he said that with proper implementation of such activities, industrial progress will be speed up.
The exhibition is being held in Shiraz from January 22-25, and is open to visitors from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
